Megan Nar Wins Poetry Aloud 2014!

Congratulations to Megan!

Congratulations to Leinster School of Music & Drama student Megan Nar, who not only came first in her junior category, but was also awarded overall first place in the 2014 Poetry Aloud poetry speaking competition awards ceremony last month. She is the first junior student to receive this accolade.

Megan, from St Louis School in County Monaghan, was presented with the perpetual trophy The Séamus Heaney Poetry Aloud Award by judge, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill. Megan is currently preparing for her LSMD Grade 5 Speech and Drama exam, having achieved 93% in her last LSMD Speech and Drama exam, in May 2014. Megan will be performing Eavan Boland’s poem Quarantine on RTÉ television in March so keep an eye out!

Megan studies under Pauline McKenna at Rossmore Speech and Drama School in Co. Monaghan.
