Springboard+ 2015 - Are you eligible?
You’ve possibly already seen our previous blog post about how a Springboard+ course can help you upskill or change career direction. These courses are for people who want to find an interesting, successful new job but need a little more training to reach their goal.
Unfortunately there seems to be some confusion about eligibility, and this may be preventing you from looking further at this great opportunity. Remember the courses are fully funded (yes, I mean free!) so let me dispel some of the myths around Springboard+ and we can get your career bouncing along!
Unemployed for more than one day?
A lot of people think that you have to be unemployed for 6 months or a year to qualify. But that’s not true. Regardless of how long you’re out of work, you can apply (provided you meet the other minimum criteria). You just need to have been in employment previously and are actively seeking a new job.
- are actively seeking work
- have been in employment previously
- are unemployed for any length of time, however short
- receiving Dept of Social Protection payments like Jobseekers Benefit or Jobseekers Allowance (some other payments count too)
…. then you should investigate this great opportunity further!
If you have previously been self employed then you could be entitled to apply too.
Check out the official Springboard+ website which explains about the criteria in detail here.
Recent Graduate? You could qualify too!
College graduates can apply for ICT Skills Conversion courses like our Higher Diploma in Computing or Higher Diploma in Science in Web Development courses. The target group for the one-year full-time ICT Skills Conversion courses are graduates (including recent graduates) with an honours degree in a related discipline. The ICT courses also include work experience so you can develop your practical skills.
