Overview

This cad pattern drafting course will enable the participants to apply existing manual pattern drafting skills in the latest in CAD technology using Lectra Modaris Model V7 software to improve and streamline the garment design and production process.

The evening course is aimed at those who have basic or advanced pattern cutting skills. It will appeal to those who are currently working in, or studying, fashion design and manufacturing who wish to gain hands-on experience in a leading edge fashion industry application.

  • Understand the CAD pattern drafting system and its application in industry
  • Use menus and system functions
  • Develop cross over skills from manual pattern drafting
  • Use a digitising table to input patterns
  • Create and modify blocks on screen
  • Create and modify patterns
  • Create style variations and files
  • Understand the production workflow

Entry Requirements
Overview Dublin: 
Mature Students - If you are 23 years or over from the 1st January of this year, you can apply for this course directly using the College’s online application form. A member of the College’s admissions team will be in touch to discuss your course entry requirements. Under 23 Years - 5 Ordinary Level, Grade D3s or above in your Leaving Certificate (subjects to include Maths and a language) or equivalent exam taken. All applicants must be a user of Microsoft Office.
