Annie Cummins-McNamara Development ActivitiesAcademic Qualifications: PhD Candidate, Department of Sociology and Philosophy, (UCC, 2017), MA Sociology (UCC, 2012), Higher Diploma in Sociology (UCC, 2011), BA in Montessori Education (Cork College of Commerce, 2014). BiographyAnnie lectures on social science as part of the BA in Journalism course at Griffith College Cork. She also teaches research methods to third years. Always interested in education, before coming to Griffith College, Annie lectured on childhood at St. Nicholas Montessori College in Cork and delivered modules on childhood, social class and education at UCC. Annie brings ten years of hands-on experience to her teaching methods having worked as an early years professional, first as a classroom assistant for children with special needs and then as a Montessori teacher. Annie's teaching philosophy in as follows: "Teaching gives me the opportunity to share my own enthusiasm and passion for the subject matter and it is extremely rewarding to be able to contribute to students' learning experience."
