Graduates of the CPA certificate programme can progress to further accounting studies through exemption from the first stage of the four-stage programme of study and training to become a fully qualified CPA accountant.

Why Study Professional Accountancy at Griffith College?

This introductory one-year course is part of the Certified Public Accountants in Ireland Suite and is aimed at students beginning their studies or career in business, or employees who wish to formalise their learning in the workplace. Following successful completion of all four exams, the student is awarded a Certificate in Business and Accounting accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland.

  • The Certificate is an online standalone course and also a stepping stone to the full qualification of CPA, whereby you sit all four modules.

  • There are four subjects in the Certificate and there are computer based exams for these twice each year in December and May.
  • Usually students will do the tuition for two of them to enable them to take the December exam and then the remaining two from January on for the May Exam.

CPA CBE Important dates

Please note the following important deadlines.  Late registration will not be accepted:

  • The closing date for receipt of completed registration forms is 5pm on Monday 30th April 2018
  • When you have submitted your completed registration form you will receive an email containing details of how to pay on-line
  • The closing date for payment of the exam fees is 5pm on Monday 7th May 2018
  • You are encouraged to register as early as possible as places on exam sessions will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Your place in an exam session cannot be confirmed until payment has been received

How to Apply

Entry Requirements

A student must obtain a pass in at least six subjects, three of which must be Grade C or higher in three higher level papers. Two of the six subjects must be English and Maths.

CPA Students

All Dublin Griffith College CPA students will be e-mailed giving details of our online registration process. This is done via www.my.gcd.ie using your student number and date of birth. Payment options and relevant forms are also available to download when registering online. Sponsored Students will need to have their Sponsorship Form completed and uploaded via the above link. Sponsorship Form. Students paying by instalments would need to complete the instalment form.

CPA CBE Exams

You must be a registered CPA student, and be in receipt of your CPA student ID number before sitting the above CPA subjects by CBE. To apply for CPA Computer Based Exams please download the registration form and send to the School of Professional Accountancy at Griffith College Dublin, South Circular Road, Dublin 8, or by e-mail to [email protected]  .
