Overview

This Certificate in Understanding Eating Disorders has been specifically designed for those who want to develop key foundation level understandings of eating disorders.

This certificate explores the different manifestations of such disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating. Students are taught how to evaluate the different management and intervention approaches and how counselling/psychotherapeutic approaches contribute to the management of eating disorders. Students also examine the definition of eating disorders and how to distinguish between the normal and abnormal use of food while identifying and evaluating key theoretical perspectives on eating disorders.
