Ciarán is an architect with over 20 years’ experience and has been a lecturer and studio tutor in the Design Faculty since 2015. He formed Ciarán Ferrie Architects in 2010 as an independent architectural consultancy and is a founding director of the co-working community, Fumbally Exchange. Ciarán was a finalist in the 2016 Fit Out Awards and in 2017 he teamed up with Michelle Moore and fellow architect, Dermot Bannon to develop the Abhaile Project, an innovative smart ageing scheme which reconfigures family-sized homes to meet the homeowner’s needs as they age, whilst creating new rental capacity. The project won the 2017 Rebuilding Ireland “Homes for Smart Ageing Universal Design Challenge.
