Griffith College Cork's Proud Collaboration with FDC Group

Griffith College Cork is proud of the continued collaboration with FDC Group. It seemed fitting that FDC Group celebrated their 50^th anniversary in 2023 as we celebrate our own 50^th anniversary in Griffith College this year.

FDC Group offers a wide range of Accounting, Taxation, Financial and Business advice to clients throughout the south of Ireland. Their headquarters is located on Wellington Road, Cork City.

Liam Dillon (FDC Group Training Manager) and Steve Collins (FDC Group Recruitment) recently visited the College to speak with Marion Courtney, our Careers and Industry Liaison and meet two of their newest work placement recruits, 3^rd year students Amrit Thapa and Anjoloaoluwa Mogaji.

Both Computing students successfully secured six-month work placements at the FDC Group head office on Wellington Road which is located very close to the College. They recently started with the IT team where they are already gaining industry experience and the opportunity to apply the skills and knowledge they have already learned in class.

Marion Courtney said, “FDC Group staff have also given in-class career talks at our Cork campus which have educated students on career paths and graduate programmes at the company.”

FDC Group also participated in our first Career’s Fair in GCC. Attending the fair on behalf of FDC Group was Chloe Heffernan, a recent BA (Hons) in Business Graduate of Griffith College Cork. Chloe now works as a Chartered Tax Advisor at FDC Group.

Liam Dillon said, “At FDC Group, we are continually encouraged by the value of 3^rd level collaboration. At Griffith we enjoy a long and valued relationship that gives us the benefit of the insight to the strong calibre of student that Griffith College produce. Our collaboration with Griffith College is truly a win-win situation.”
