Biography
Martin Plachetka is a lecturer in Accounting, Business, Economics and EAP. He holds an MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics from UCC, with a focus on minority languages and their speakers.
Having worked as a Student Officer in a previous role, he is an advocate for student well-being, support and retention, and ultimately successful completion of their chosen course.
Research Interests
His research interests include Sociolinguistics, in particular linguistic issues surrounding speakers of minority languages and their identities, minority language use, maintenance, transmission and language attitudes.
