Projects

SMART4FUTURE Project

Welcome to the forefront of educational innovation with the SMART4FUTURE project—a collaborative effort aimed at revolutionizing education through innovation. Backed by a consortium of eight partners, SMART4FUTURE is strategically positioned to reshape the educational landscape. The consortium, comprising six higher education institutions, a dynamic business accelerator, and two influential companies, is determined to drive innovation and empower learners.

As a key participant in the SMART4FUTURE project, the GBS Hub was pivotal in hosting the #GameOn Innovation Bootcamp in 2023. This immersive event brought together participants from across the consortium to unleash their creativity, foster collaboration, and explore innovative solutions to pressing educational challenges and beyond. Alongside initiatives like the bootcamp, the SMART4FUTURE project's top priority includes creating three comprehensive Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs), designed to empower participants with the knowledge, expertise, and mindset necessary to navigate the complexities of the 21st-century job market.

The impact of the SMART4FUTURE project is tangible and far-reaching, evident in various achievements such as providing support to over 40 start-ups, delivering training for more than 400 students, and extending mentorship to over 150 students and 40 academic staff members. Additionally, the project has established more than 80 partnerships and enhanced support structures within each Higher Education Institution (HEI). Through these accomplishments and ongoing initiatives, SMART4FUTURE is paving the way for a future where education goes beyond imparting knowledge, focusing on empowering learners to thrive in an ever-evolving world. Join us in shaping the future of education through innovation and collaboration!

SMART4FUTURE Project

AI4VET4AI

The AI4VET4AI project aims to address the growing demand for skilled workers in the AI field, focusing on fostering an AI-savvy workforce throughout Europe. This project aims to contribute to the digital transformation of the EU labour market by integrating innovative teaching content and methods into VET (Vocational Education and Training) curricula across 11 European countries and 18 EU NUTS2 regions, enhancing the skills and understanding of AI among VET learners and educators. The project is co-funded by the European Union to run from June 2023 – June 2027.

As part of this project, the GBS Hub will be conducting research on the interplay of AI and further education, exploring the kinds of skills needed to ensure no one is left behind in the digital transformation and creating stronger links between education and industry. The Hub has organized an event series for 2024 to explore the connections between further education and AI in an Irish context. The Hub has successfully held the first of three events, Opportunities for Further Education and AI, bringing together a panel of digital education experts and AI-related industry professionals to share their insights with the Griffith community and our growing network in Dublin and beyond. Join us in shaping the future of AI education!
