Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival 2021 Trailer Launch Night Kicked off in A-list Style!

Virgin Media Dublin International Festival 2021

In true DIFF style, the 2021 trailer left us both entranced and wanting more.

On Wednesday February 3rd the Virgin Media Dublin International Film Festival launched their fantastic trailer for the 2021 season, with a little help from none other than Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci.

With over 60 films from 25 countries across the globe, this years' offering will show a variety of features, shorts and documentaries from both Irish and International filmmakers. The trailer gave us a sneak peek of some of the actors who will be starring in the fantastic programme, with Saoirse Ronan, Kate Winslet, Colin Firth, Stanley Tucci, Normal People's Paul Mescal and Derry Girls' Louisa Harland just a few of the stellar line up.

This year the festival will be taking place online, a first for the festival. Although we would love to be watching all of the films in the cinema, the festival organisers have worked tirelessly over the last twelve months and developed an all-encompassing online setting to showcase the film, with star-studded galas and Q&As on the agenda for the duration of the season.

Griffith College is delighted to once again be a sponsor for this year's festival. We would like to congratulate Festival Director and lecturer on the BA in Film & TV Production Gráinne Humphreys, as well as the entire DIFF team, on working day and night to deliver such an incredible programme for 2021. If the trailer is anything to go by, the DIFF team have excelled themselves, although we had no doubt this would be the case.

The Festival kicks off on the 3rd of March and will run until the 14th. If, like us, you cannot wait that long, take a look at the preview trailer. If that isn't enough, we suggest having a look at the launch gala where Gráinne spoke with Colin and Stanley about the festival and their film Supernova that will be launching the festival.

You can also get the latest updates from the festival by following #VMDIFF21 or checking out Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube.

We are off to block out our calendars and plan what films we are going to watch. Is it March yet?
