Susan Gogan Development ActivitiesAcademic Qualifications: BA in Photography, Dublin Institute of Technology (2002); MA in Art and Research Collaboration, Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire (2017) BiographySusan Gogan is a Senior Photography Technician at Griffith College, and has been with the college since 2009. She manages and maintains the photography studios, darkrooms and digital printing facilities while also providing technical assistance and advice to students in relation to camera and lighting equipment. She has previously worked as a professional commercial photographer specializing in fashion and promotion, producing work for a variety of clients including Image Magazine, DreamWorks Pictures, TG4, RTE, Getty Images and Fáilte Ireland. She also ran a studio of her own called The Light Exchange, which provided studio and darkroom hire facilities and evening courses in professional photography. At present, in addition to working at Griffith College, she has an art practice making large-scale staged photographic works and short films. Her work has been exhibited widely including exhibitions in the Gallery of Photography and Temple Bar Galleries in Dublin. Most recently she has presented her work at the Irish Museum of Modern Art and in a screening at the Irish Film Institute (both 2017). A number of her photographic pieces have been purchased by the State Art Collection (Office of Public Works, Dublin).
