Graduate Business School Careers Day

Head of the Graduate Business School Aine McManus speaks at the Careers Day held at Griffith College Dublin

The day gave students a chance to network and get serious about prospects for their future careers.

On Friday 6th March, the Graduate Business School welcomed employers and alumni speakers onto campus for the inaugural Graduate Careers Day. Students had the opportunity to network with sixteen employers and listen to a panel of four alumni guest speakers.

Exhibitors from a wide range of organisations attended the Careers Day, held in the Conference Centre at Griffith College. Students were given the opportunity to speak with exhibitors, ask questions about their business and explore the possibility of any potential job opportunities.

The Graduate Business School welcomed four alumni guest speakers onto campus to share their post-graduation experience as part of an alumni panel. The panel members were Prarthana Rai from LinkedIn, George Ardagh from Dropbox, Bandeh Ali from AIB and Busayo Adeyeye from Accenture (pictured above).

Students had the opportunity to hear first-hand from these alumni about their experience of entering the world of work after graduating. The panel also gave students tips and advice about searching for jobs post-graduation, what it is like working for their organisation and extra-curricular activities to improve students CV.

Aine McManus, Head of the Graduate Business School, said of the event: "There was a great atmosphere on the day; students really engaged in networking with employers and asking pertinent questions at the alumni panel. The companies that attended the Graduate Business School Careers Day were impressed with the range of experience and skills demonstrated by our students. Exhibitors commented on the positive attitude and professional demeanour of students. They highlighted additional skills such as languages, international experience and qualifications, giving a really unique Graduate Business School student profile. We were also delighted to raise awareness of the 1G visa with companies, highlighting how accessible and easy it is to hire non-EU grads. We look forward to hosting another Graduate Business School Careers Day and would like to welcome businesses to exhibit at the next event. "
