Alex is the Alumni Officer at Griffith College. Since graduating in 2013 he has held a number of roles within the Higher Education sector in the United Kingdom, gaining experience in Student Services, Student Recruitment and Alumni Engagement.
Alex began his career at Student Finance Wales as part of the national modernisation project which centralised Student Finance across Wales. He moved to Edge Hill University, beginning a role in Student Services as a Money Adviser and later taking the role of Education Liaison Officer, working to improve recruitment and relationships with schools and colleges nationally, with a specific focus on working with schools and colleges across Wales, Cheshire and Staffordshire. Alex then moved into working with alumni as the Alumni Officer for the University of Sunderland, managing the 150,000-strong alumni network.
Alex has experience managing events around the world, developing digital marketing campaigns, developing websites and has launched and managed social media accounts.
As Griffith College’s Alumni Officer, Alex looks after the College's alumni network, with a key focus on engaging alumni, delivering alumni events and featuring opportunities for alumni of Griffith College.
Alex has continually worked to develop himself through career networks such as NASMA (National Association of Student Money Advisers), HELOA (Higher Education Liaison Officers Association) and CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education), partaking in national conferences and delivering information sessions. Alex has previously published in the UniTasterDays Teachers’ Guide to University 2018-19 edition.
