Steven is head of marketing for Griffith College. Over the past twenty years, he has held a range of marketing and senior management roles in Ireland and overseas, specialising in the areas of education, heritage, strategy and tourism marketing.
Steven was Tourism Ireland's manager for the Nordic Region, where he was instrumental in moving the tourist board's marketing focus in the region towards digital and online, achieving record visitor numbers. He also served as director of marketing for Heritage Island, a leading visitor attraction marketing group. Steven's work on a return on marketing investment model for the tourism sector was short-listed for an All-Ireland Marketing Award in 2012.
As Griffith’s Head of Marketing, Steven oversees all marketing, brand and promotional activities in the Irish and UK markets, managing our national marketing, digital, PR and social media teams.
Steven is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, the Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland, the Chartered Institute of Marketing in the UK, and the Public Relations Institute of Ireland. A certified data protection officer, he sits on the College's data protection committee, the ACOI's data protection and technology working group and IBEC's digital economy policy committee.
He writes regularly for a range of national and international publications including Marketing Magazine, Catalyst, Business & Finance, Irish Tech News, Business Plus, Education Magazine and ICQ Magazine, and was a contributor to the ACOI's 2019 Data Protection Guide. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), a non-executive director on the board of The Discovery Programme, and was a 2019 judge for the Marketer of the Year award.
