Future Coders Event Welcomes Dublin Secondary Students to Explore Tech at Griffith College

Computing Event

Griffith College’s Dublin campus became a hub of innovation last week as secondary school students from local Dublin schools gathered to explore Computing Science and prepare for future careers in tech.

The day began with a warm welcome from faculty, followed by a hands-on coding workshop showcasing the dynamic, practical learning style of the BSc (Hons) in Computing Science. Students explored the art of coding by creating a Magic 8 Ball program and crafting bracelets with their names in binary, combining fun and learning in a hands-on experience.

A campus tour highlighted Griffith’s state-of-the-art facilities and vibrant student life. During lunch, the students connected with staff, gaining insights into their supportive learning journeys and what it’s like to study at Griffith.

A careers talk from Head of Faulty Dr Waseem Akhtar capped off the event, exploring exciting fields like Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence, inspiring attendees with the wealth of career opportunities awaiting them in the tech industry.
