Griffith College Limerick to host Career Guidance Day

Griffith College Limerick

Griffith College Limerick is delighted to be organising a workshop for guidance counsellors on the subject of “Anxiety and Adolescence in the Digital Age”. This workshop will equip you with skills and expertise that you can use in your dealing with secondary school students. The workshop will briefly review current theoretical and evidential perspectives on anxiety focusing both on “normative” experience of anxiety and diagnosable anxiety disorders. We will explore how individual psychology and broader societal realities impact on adolescent emotional development and consider whether existence in the digital era has had a transformative effect on how teenagers perceive and experience anxiety. Finally, appropriate school-based interventions will be considered, emphasising the practicality of supporting adolescent anxiety in the post-primary context.
