GIL - Cork

Cork is a popular destination for both work and study.  In 2015, Ireland was listed as No. 5 in the 10 top countries to visit, by the influential Lonely Planet guide.  The same publication has in the past also listed Cork as one of the top 10 cities worldwide to visit.  With over 1,400 years of history, Cork was European Capital of Culture in 2005.

The city is compact, so it is easy to get around on foot.  At the same time, there is a good public transport network.  Cork airport is just a fifteen-minute bus or taxi journey from the city centre, and there is a good rail service as well as numerous bus links to Dublin and other centres.

Cork enjoys a vibrant multi-cultural and very friendly atmosphere, and you will easily meet people from all over the world in the many cafés, bars and restaurants.  Student life here is full of energy and variety, and many students stay on here following their studies.  Work is relatively easy to find, whether casual work in retail outlets, au pair work, or professional positions.

Most importantly, you will receive excellent English language tuition in Griffith College, Cork.  All of our teachers are enthusiastic and friendly.  They love to see their students progress, and are always happy to make some extra time to help you in any way they can.  In January 2016, the college will expand to take over a large wing, and improved facilities will be developed for access to I.T. services, student canteen areas, larger classrooms and more.

 Our Recruitment and Inspection Policies

At Griffith, we have a policy of recruiting families in safe and secure areas with high-quality houses. We inspect all of our families against a set of national standards, as well as some additional standards that we have added ourselves. Our host families are given a handbook and they sign an agreement when the accommodation officer is satisfied with the inspection. All our families are re-inspected once a year or when an issue has been raised.

Why did you choose Griffith College Cork?

I chose Griffith College because it is one of the most renowned schools in Ireland for providing language courses of high quality. Griffith has important accreditations which made me feel confident I was choosing a reliable school.

What is the best thing about Griffith College?

By far the most important was the educational component. I had the privilege of taking classes with highly motivated, competent teachers, who are, in my opinion the best thing about Griffith College.
They have shown me the best way to improve my communication skills in English and where I need to focus my studies to achieve my goals.

Would you recommend Griffith to other students from your country? If yes, why?

For sure I would! The English course I did was definitely the right thing for me because without this opportunity I wouldn’t have been accepted for my post graduate programme. It definitely opened doors to my professional career.

Why did you choose Griffith College Cork?

I chose Griffith College to study English because of the reputation for high quality tuition and their central location. All the positive feedback I had heard proved to be true. Griffith College is a very welcoming school where every student gets their best chance to improve their English level.

What is the best thing about Griffith College?

The best thing about Griffith College is the administration and the teachers because they give 100% attention to any queries a student might have. I felt really supported by the teachers I had during my stay at Griffith College and that helped enormously to improve my English level.

Would you recommend Griffith to other students from your country? If yes, why?

I would highly recommend Griffith College to other students from France because it would give them their best chance of progression with their English level especially because of the highly-skilled teachers and the small class sizes. Being immersed in an English speaking country is really the best way to improve your English level. I also reckon that Ireland is one of the most welcoming countries in the world and their culture is really enriching.
