Accommodation

Griffith College Limerick has a number of modern accommodation options.  Students can choose from self-catering student villages or host family accommodation i.e. where a student lives with a local family. Each option is immersed in Irish culture and English language offering a friendly Irish welcome.

Host family

Living with a local family helps students to relax and integrate into life in Ireland. All host families and inspected and monitored by the college.  We have many families within walking distance of our college or a short bus ride away.

Each host family will provide the following for the student:

  • Single/ double room with bedclothes which are changed weekly as well as adequate storage for clothes.
  • Access to laundry facilities
  • WI-FI access
  • Private study area
  • Access to bathroom and shower daily

 Our Recruitment and Inspection Policies

At Griffith, we have a policy of recruiting families in safe and secure areas with high-quality houses. We inspect all of our families against a set of national standards, as well as some additional standards that we have added ourselves. Our host families are given a handbook and they sign an agreement when the accommodation officer is satisfied with the inspection. All our families are re-inspected once a year or when an issue has been raised.

Self-Catering apartments

Griffith College also offers self-catering accommodation which is just a short distance from the college. Each apartment consists of a communal kitchen and sitting room and has either 4 or 6 bedrooms. The facilities include:

  • a laundrette
  • electric heating
  • TV
  • wi-fi
  • study room
  • TV room
  • games room

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK?

I chose Griffith College because I knew that it is a high quality institution committed to their students.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK?

At all times we are reminded why we are here and this is, in my opinion, very important for our learning, because even unintentionally, we tend to relax in our studies. The teachers are very patient, and in addition, they are always ready to help us with any issues we might have. We visit the best places in town together and end up becoming real friends. Since my first day, Griffith College employees have helped me with everything I needed. Through the Director of Studies, I had all necessary support to settle in the city and have a peaceful stay. I would even take this opportunity to thank them again for their support and guidance! Thanks Griffith College.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK TO A FRIEND?

Without hesitation, I’m sure I could not have chosen a better city in Ireland because Limerick is the city of sport so, as I love sports too, I found the perfect match.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK?

I chose Griffith College Limerick because I knew of the good reputation of Griffith College and I wanted to stay in smaller city.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK?

Before I came to Limerick, I couldn’t imagine that I would get such a great welcome as I did when I arrived at Griffith College Limerick. All the college team are amazing, both staff and teachers. They gave me a lot of attention, instructions about everything I needed and they have a lot of patience in dealing with the students. The teachers are also very capable, they have excellent methodology without being boring. The classes are interactive, and we are continually told by the teacher to speak English with our classmates, we are very comfortable in asking the teachers questions when we do not understand something. In addition, Limerick is a charming city, with ancient buildings, flowery parks, polite people and different kinds of pubs. The city doesn’t have a big city bustle, but I can find everything I need here.

WOULD YOU RECOMMEND GRIFFITH COLLEGE LIMERICK TO A FRIEND?

Of course, I have had a really good experience, I’m satisfied with the choice I made, both by the city and by the college. All the fears I had before coming to a foreign country disappeared when I arrived here and felt the good energy in this place. I recommend it!
