Joe Schmidt receives the Distinguished Fellowship Award

Internationally recognised sports person and current Head Coach of the Irish Rugby team, Joe Schmidt, was presented with the 2018 Griffith College Distinguished Fellowship Award in honour of his career and contribution to Irish sport. Previous recipients include President Mary McAleese, and Nobel Laureates John Hume and Seamus Heaney. 

Under Schmidt’s leadership, Ireland have achieved sustained rugby success, including three Six Nations Championships in five years and the Grand Slam and Triple Crown in 2018.
