Course Overview

Overcome many of the common fears of public speaking.

Many people feel uncomfortable when speaking in public or addressing large groups. Griffith College has developed Public Speaking courses that are specifically designed for those who may be called upon to make presentations or host conferences for work.

A good speaker is confident, authoritative, energised and engaging. This course is designed to help you develop your communication skills, enable you to put your ideas across clearly, and hold the attention of your audience.

This course focuses on the development of professional skills and does not sit on the national framework; however, it leads to a Griffith College award.

Intake Dates

Student Testimonials

The Effective Public Speaking course at Griffith College exceeded my expectations. I went in nervous about speaking in front of others, but the supportive environment and expert guidance made all the difference. The practical exercises, personalised feedback, and clear techniques helped me gain confidence and structure my messages clearly. By the end, I was not only more comfortable speaking publicly—I actually started to enjoy it. I’d highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their communication skills, whether for work, interviews, or personal growth.

Effective Public Speaking

The syllabus was well designed, and the tutor, Ann Russell, was thorough and professional, providing a good level of one-to-one tuition in a small group environment. Ann gave many tips and pointers, many of which I recently put into practice whilst giving a presentation to a large audience at a conference in Panama City. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to improve their public speaking ability.
