A playbook created in partnership between Children’s Books Ireland and An Post.

This past Saturday, households around the country received a special supplement to the Irish Times - Imagine Nation. Designed by Griffith lecturer Fintan Wall, who teaches on our Design Communications degree, the playbook is full of games, colouring sheets, and even tips to help children deal with complicated emotions in this difficult time. The activities range from colouring in animals practising their yoga poses to writing short poems in English and Irish.

“We want to help alleviate some of the boredom and to encourage [children] to take some time to draw, read, write and create,” the creators of the playbook said in a statement printed on the first page of each book. “We are delighted to share this fantastic playbook with you to help make time for a little family fun, creativity and togetherness.”

If you missed the playbook in your copy of the Irish Times this weekend, you can download it from Children’s Books Ireland.

Well done to Fintan and all the exceptional illustrators, writers and creators who collaborated on this special piece.
