Griffith College Cork Celebrates Outstanding Achievement at 2025 Graduation Ceremony

Griffith College Cork proudly celebrated the achievements of its 2025 graduates this week, with the spotlight shining on Amrit Thapa, who was honoured with the prestigious Student of the Year Award.

The award was presented by Professor Diarmuid Hegarty, President of Griffith College, during the college’s annual Graduation Ceremony, which brought together students, families, and faculty to honour the dedication and achievements of this year’s graduates.

Amrit Thapa, who graduated with a First-Class Honours Degree in Computing Science, distinguished himself throughout his studies through his exceptional academic performance and his contributions to college life. His expertise in software development, data analysis and visualisation, and emerging technologies has set a high standard for excellence within the Computing faculty.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, Amrit is recognised as an exemplary classmate and an active member of the Griffith College Cork community. Alongside his studies, he has demonstrated strong professional capability in his role as an IT Support Engineer, showcasing the practical application of his skills in real-world settings.

“Amrit represents the very best of Griffith College Cork - commitment to excellence, innovation, and a spirit of collaboration,” said Computing Programme Director Fergal Lane during the presentation. “We are incredibly proud of his achievements and confident he will continue to make a positive impact in his future career.”
