Liana Krieger
This collection explores identity, belonging, and resilience inspired by family stories of the designer's ancestors in the 18th Century, a group of Russian-Germans displaced by war and politics. The aim is to translate the untold history of a long, arduous journey from despair into hope through garments that reflect both strength and vulnerability. The silhouettes, inspired by Soviet Brutalist Architecture, are sharp and structured, forming a protective outer shell, while a hand-written print reminds us of the personal lives of the family whose name the designer has carried on, generations later. A colour palette of black and white contrasts with the drama of red and violet for a creative customer who exudes charisma. The designer`s commitment to sustainability can be seen in the unique , handmade, upcycled sequins and her use of deadstock fabrics in natural fibres, showing that discarded materials can feel luxurious and even red carpet worthy.
