Interior Architecture
The BA (Hons) in Interior Architecture (Level 8) centres on the design and transformation of interior environments through spatial thinking and structural understanding, with a strong emphasis on adaptive reuse, sustainability, and social responsibility. Students on this programme at Griffith College Dublin develop in-demand skills in spatial planning, technical drawing, BIM, practice and project management, advanced rendering, and creative problem-solving.
The Interior Architecture major project involves the adaptive reuse of an existing building, responding to themes such as social responsibility, civic engagement, or health care. Each student selects an appropriate building, develops a comprehensive brief that incorporates at least three functions, and follows professional project stages, with particular attention to universal design, environmental responsibility, and innovative solutions that support positive change. The major projects, showcased as part of the Creative Show, demonstrate the breadth and ambition of final-year major study. Each project reflects extensive research, concept and sketch development, planning, problem-solving, detailed design, and technical drawing, highlighting innovative design approaches.
