This project explores the adaptive reuse of the Tara Building, transforming it into The Arrival Lab, a welcoming environment designed to support students and families arriving in Dublin on work or student visas. The aim is to create a calm and inclusive space that eases the emotional transition into a new city while fostering belonging, orientation, and community. The concept views arrival as a process of discovery and adjustment, expressed through soft materials, natural textures, and a warm, neutral colour palette that promotes serenity and comfort. Open yet intimate spaces encourage both social interaction and moments of quiet retreat.

Multi-functionality allows spaces to support gathering, studying, working, and informal support services. Room designs reflect international cultures through textiles and wallpapers inspired by countries, celebrating diversity while maintaining a cohesive and human-centred environment that provides newcomers with a reassuring arrival experience in Dublin.
