Interior Architecture (Level 8)
Noemie Lambeau
This project proposes the adaptive reuse of a protected building in Dublin city centre into a small-scale purpose-built student accommodation for around 12 students, developed in response to the ongoing housing crisis and the need for high-quality, well-managed student living. My approach focuses on creating a balanced environment that supports academic achievement, social interaction and mental well-being while respecting the architectural character of the existing structure. The design integrates a diverse mix of cluster bedrooms, private ensuite rooms and self-contained studios to accommodate different levels of independence and community engagement. Carefully planned communal spaces including shared kitchen, study areas and flexible social zones, form the building’s social core. Sustainability, conservation and universal design principles guide every decision, ensuring accessibility, energy efficiency and long-term adaptability. Operational functionality, safety and flexibility for both academic year and summer use are central objectives, resulting in cohesive, inclusive and contextually responsive student living environment.
