Creative Bursary
Griffith College & IAPI Creative Bursary
Griffith College previously partnered with the Institute of Advertising Practitioners Ireland (IAPI) to encourage secondary school students to apply for the IAPI Creative Bursary.
The Creative Bursary ran from 2019 and aimed to inspire young people to consider careers in the creative commercial sector. Griffith College provided a total bursary of €10,000 to improve the winning schools’ art departments, investing in equipment and projects to develop students’ creative skills. IAPI member agencies provided students with an experiential opportunity, opening up the creative commercial sector as a possible future career path.
“The Creative Bursary has become a key project for IAPI. This initiative allows us to reach out to talented secondary students from all over the country and ensure they are aware of the possibilities open to them within the creative communications sector”.
- CEO of IAPI, Charley Stoney

"The most enjoyable part of the project for me as a teacher was seeing students discover skills they never realised they had. Some had never studied art as a subject and were surprised that they both enjoyed it and are good at it. I also realised how clued-in they are when it comes to social media and I certainly learned a lot from them".
- Art Teacher at Presentation Secondary School, Barry Kennedy
