Griffith College Celebrates Big Wins At The SMEDIAS 2026!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our talented students at this year’s National Student Media Awards (SMEDIAs), one of the biggest nights of the year for student journalism and media across Ireland. 

Our students brought home two major awards, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and professionalism that define the Griffith College community. 

Congratulations to Ana Victoria Romero Delahanty, Melanie Watson, Sebastian Bras Harriott, and the editorial team behind D08 magazine, who took home the award for Small College or Society Publication of the Year. 

D08 is a project developed by students from the BA (Hons) in Communications & Media Production, that celebrates the stories, culture, and community of the Dublin 8 area. This recognition is a testament to their hard work, vision, and teamwork

Huge congratulations to Patrik Meier (BA (Hons) in Communications & Media Production) for winning News Photographer of the Year. 

We’re thrilled to see our students' work being celebrated on such a national platform. These wins reflect the passion and excellence that run through every project at Griffith College.
