Leading Investigative Journalist Niall Sargent joins the Journalism team at Griffith College

We’re delighted to announce that having delivered Guest Lectures to our MA in Journalism & Media Communications students in recent years, Niall Sargent is taking up a new role this term delivering the Investigative Journalism module to our second year BA (HONS) in Communications & Media Production. Niall works as an investigative journalist specialising in ‘Climate, Environment, Biodiversity, Social Issues, Data and Planning Law’ at Noteworthy.ie, part of TheJournal.ie - Ireland’s leading online news site.

In 2020 Niall was shortlisted for one of Ireland’s most prestigious investigative journalism awards, the Mary Raftery Prize, for his work on the treatment of non-EU workers in the horticultural industry.

Having worked with RTÉ’s Investigations Unit, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism in London and edited GreenNews.ie, Niall joins the team at the Faculty of Journalism & Media Communications with an MA in Investigative Journalism from City University, London.

You can read his work here and here. Welcome to the team Niall!
