Griffith College Dublin was delighted to host well-known Irish photographer Eamonn Doyle for a talk on Friday, 26 April.

Doyle, who is currently represented by the Michael Hoppen Gallery in London, has a large scale solo exhibition at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin and is due to exhibit to Fundación Mapfre, Madrid, September 2019.

Over the past five years, Doyle has rapidly emerged into the contemporary photography world with his “Dublin trilogy” (extracts from which were self-published as three acclaimed books; i, ON and End.) and most recently with his new series, K, which he photographed in the west of Ireland and southern Spain. His debut photobook, i, described by Martin Parr as 'the best street photo book in a decade' was published in March 2014.

Programme Director Sinead Murphy said of the visit, “Following on from his very recent successful show in the RHA, we were thrilled that world-renowned photographic artist Eamonn Doyle came into Griffith to do a talk for our students, staff and visitors alike on Friday last. It was a hugely inspiring talk and was warmly received by all. Three days after the talk, every time I meet one of our students they mention how great it was; that’s a testament to Eamonn, his work and his engaging presentation and Q&A. Griffith College Photography would like to congratulate him on his show and wish him the best of luck for the upcoming Madrid exhibition.”
