Griffith College Lecturer Niall Sargent Receives Seven Nominations at Justice Media Awards 2025

Faculty of Journalism and Media Communications at Griffith College is proud to congratulate our Investigative Journalism lecturer, Niall Sargent, on receiving seven nominations across five categories in the Law Society of Ireland’s Justice Media Awards 2025.
The Justice Media Awards are Ireland’s longest-running media awards, recognising exceptional journalism that enhances public understanding of justice, legal systems, and key legal issues. This year’s shortlist celebrates some of the country's most impactful reporting, and we’re delighted to see Niall’s work so strongly represented.
Niall currently works as a multimedia investigative reporter with The Currency, an Irish-based digital news publication. He specialises in in-depth reporting on climate change, biodiversity loss, food systems, and broader social justice issues. You can explore his work here:
Before joining The Currency, Niall worked with The Journal Investigates and has been involved in several major cross-border investigations with EU partners. His journalism has earned multiple accolades, including the Business Analyst of the Year award in 2022.
