Break Space is a body of work I’ve developed over the past year, centred on self-expression and emotion through movement within breakdancing.

Collaborating with the dancers was a core part of the process. Watching them move instinctively to the music while I photographed became as important as the images themselves.

During this project, I returned to something I hadn’t embraced in years as a photographer: silence. I gave no direction. I allowed each subject complete freedom, resisting any urge to shape or interfere.

The intention was to preserve the rawness of their movement, the tension, the distortion, and the emotion embedded in each pose. Nothing was staged; nothing was corrected. What exists in the work is entirely theirs.
