Course Details
Semester One
This module provides learners with a set of key green management skills in the tourism sector. Emphasis is placed on reducing carbon footprint, aiming to become a carbon-neutral organisation while also creating financial savings.

This module covers an extensive array of different sports, leisure, tourism, and health and wellness activities and aims to develop learner awareness of issues underlying the management of recreation and leisure tourism.

The module aims to examine tourism and the environment in all its aspects and adapt this understanding to the development and long-term plans of sustainable tourism opportunities. Semester Two
Learners develop a critical responsiveness to the ways in which sustainable development and planning can enhance the social and environmental landscape by investigating the social, economic, and environmental impacts and what strategies can be employed to develop responsible, sustainable planning in the long term.

The module provides learners with a practical understanding of Ms Excel and Oracle Opera Cloud Hospitality Platform, in addition to understanding inventory management, cost classification and demand forecasting.

This management practice module offers learners an opportunity to develop an understanding of contemporary issues in management practice and the diverse issues faced by organisations. The BA (Hons) in Sustainable Tourism Management explores specialised knowledge and practical techniques for sustainable tourism management, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030 (SDGs). Eligibility
For those learners accessing from an international market, the entry requirement into the programme requires a minimum Level 7 major award in a cognate area or equivalent.
Applicants over 23 may apply based on previous work experience and a demonstration of commitment to further education.
Applicants under the age of 23 must meet the entry requirements. This proposed one-year programme is best suited to learners from EU institutions where there is an expressed demand identified during the market research stage with the College’s international agents.
Applicants without the academic entry requirements may also apply for entry to the programme. All applications involving the consideration of Accredited Prior Learning (APL), or Accredited Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) are managed by the college’s APL / APEL committee in accordance with its approved QAE procedures.

Tuition Fees
Study Mode: Part-Time/Blended
Limerick: €3,975
An Academic Administration Fee of €250 is payable each September at the start of term. For students starting in the January/February term, €125 is payable in February, and then €250 will be payable each September from then onwards.
Potential Funding available for 2025/26
Next Level Skillnet has approved this course for a fee subsidy of up to 45% for students whose company is a member of the Next Level Skillnet Network and who meet their eligibility criteria.

2% Learner Protection Charge
All QQI accredited programmes of education and training of 3 months or longer duration are covered by arrangements under section 65 (4) of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012 whereby, in the event of the provider ceasing to provide the programme for any reason, enrolled learners may transfer to a similar programme at another provider, or, in the event that this is not practicable, the fees most recently paid will be refunded.
