Business student wins award

Alex Spagnuolo, a BA (Hons) in Accounting & Finance student at Griffith College Dublin, has been awarded the prestigious 'Student of the Year' award for 2025.

This well-deserved recognition celebrates Alex's exemplary work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence across all of his modules and course content. His dedication to his studies, combined with his outstanding contributions to the wider college community, made him a clear choice for this esteemed award.

Going Above and Beyond

Throughout his time at Griffith College, Alex has demonstrated what it truly means to be an exceptional student. He has been an invaluable asset to the Business Faculty, generously giving his time to support numerous extracurricular activities and initiatives.

Alex played a key role in organising the faculty's careers fairs, where he met with companies, welcomed representatives, and escorted them to the exam hall for events. His professionalism and enthusiasm helped ensure these important occasions ran smoothly.

Recognising the value of peer-to-peer learning, Alex willingly attended Year 1 and Year 2 tutorials to assist students in smaller groups whilst lecturers led interactive sessions. His patient approach and ability to explain complex concepts made him a trusted mentor to his fellow students. In the classroom, he was always ready to work with classmates who needed extra support, fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Despite not holding the position of class representative, Alex consistently demonstrated leadership by approaching the year head with student concerns and offering thoughtful solutions wherever possible. His proactive attitude and genuine desire to help others, without seeking recognition in return, exemplified the spirit of community that Griffith College values.

Alex also contributed valuable feedback and input during the faculty's latest programmatic review, serving on the student panel and providing insights that will help shape the future of the programme.
