Griffith College Postgraduate Journalism Students Enjoy Q&A with Journalist of the Year 2018

The learners from Griffith College’s MA in Journalism course enjoyed a Q&A with journalist and editor Peter Apps via video link.

Apps is well-known for his coverage of social housing fire regulation failures, most notably that of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.

UK based Apps joined the class video link where he spoke in-depth about his experiences as a journalist and editor. Apps was awarded ‘Journalist of the Year’ at the British Journalism Awards for Special Media in 2018 for his coverage of the 2017 Grenfell tragedy.

Insight

While speaking with the class, Apps offered some valuable insights into the world of journalism. He discussed reporting and how the immense pressure that continues to fall on journalists should be considered a positive.  

The talk, facilitated by the Dublin Inquirer was thoroughly enjoyed by the postgraduate students.
