Graphic Communication Design Students Attend Innovators Festival 2026 at Google
Students from the BA (Hons) in Graphic Communication Design programme at Griffith College Dublin recently attended the Innovators Festival 2026, organised by Business Post in partnership with Google.
Held at the Google Foundry in Dublin, the festival brought together leaders from across technology, business, and the creative industries to discuss the future of innovation in Ireland and beyond.
Exploring the Role of AI, Sustainability and Innovation
Throughout the event, students attended a series of talks and panel discussions exploring some of the most important themes shaping today’s industries. Speakers examined how startups are using artificial intelligence to drive innovation and growth, the critical importance of sustainability within modern businesses, and how artists and creatives are beginning to experiment with AI as part of their practice.
The event also explored Dublin’s position as a global centre for innovation, with discussions on how the city can continue to evolve and support emerging ideas, businesses, and creative talent.
For our students, the day offered real-world insight into how technology, creativity, and business are intertwined.
Griffith College Lecturer Speaks on Innovation in Dublin
Ciarán Ferrie, who lectures on the Certificate in Conservation, Sustainability and Adaptive Reuse at Griffith College Dublin, participated in a panel discussion titled “The Innovation City: Can Dublin Learn to Think Differently?”
The panel explored how cities can rethink development, sustainability, and innovation to respond to modern challenges.
For students in attendance, seeing a Griffith College lecturer contributing to such an important conversation reinforced the college’s strong connection to industry and contemporary debates in design, sustainability, and innovation.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Industry events like the Innovators Festival provide students with the opportunity to engage with ideas and professionals beyond the classroom. By attending talks from leaders in technology, design, and entrepreneurship, students gain valuable perspectives on how their skills can be applied in a rapidly evolving creative and digital landscape.
Applications are open for the September 2026 intake for the BA (Hons) in Graphic Communication Design (full-time), and the BA in Graphic Communication Design (part-time and full-time).
