15 Years of the Diploma in Legal Studies and Practice
Griffith College recently hosted a celebratory evening on campus to mark two major milestones for the Faculty of Law: the 15th anniversary of the Diploma in Legal Studies and Practice (DLSP) and the official revalidation of the programme.
The event brought together current students, alumni, faculty, and industry guests to reflect on fifteen years of academic excellence and the continued evolution of the course.
Event Highlights & Guest Speakers
The evening opened with welcoming remarks from DLSP Programme Director, Nathan O’Regan, who highlighted the strength and reputation the programme has built over the last decade and a half.
Attendees also heard from DLSP graduate Richard Crowley, now a practicing solicitor, who shared insights into how the diploma shaped his legal career and provided a practical foundation for working in the legal sector.
Celebrating Academic Excellence
A central focus of the evening was recognising the outstanding achievements of recent DLSP students through several prestigious awards:
- Frank Crummy Perpetual Award: Congratulations to Amy Sullivan, recipient of this year’s award for achieving the highest overall grade in the programme. Killian Boland (2024 recipient) accepted the award on behalf of Amy and himself, presented by Frank Crummy Jnr.
- Academic Excellence Medals: Presented by Richard Crowley, the Excellence in Legal Practice Award went to Joanna O'Leary Tuite, while the Community Impact Award was presented to Jana Meyer for her contribution and dedication.
The Faculty of Law extends its congratulations to all award recipients and graduates, and sincere thanks to everyone who joined the celebrations on campus.
