Modules

The aim of this module is to teach students the key evidence necessary to facilitate an understanding of both recent and complex trauma and its impacts as well as the values and principles of trauma-informed care.

The aim of this module is to provide learners an understanding of the importance of relationship-based practice in building positive collaborative engagement between parents and practitioners in order to deliver effective family-based interventions. The module will provide the learner with the opportunity to develop the knowledge, strategies, and skills necessary to work with parents in a professional context with emphasis on responding appropriately to the varied and complex needs of parents through a strengths-based approach.  The importance of parental involvement in delivering better outcomes for children and adolescents will be similarly emphasised. Students will be supported and expected to demonstrate reflective and reflexive insight and develop a capacity to engage with reflective practice frameworks to facilitate continuous professional development.  Students will also develop an awareness and understanding of quality enhancement strategies relevant to professional parental support.
