What can the counselling team support with?
- With a network of over 70 therapists, the team is fully trained and equipped to deal with a wide range of issues learners and residents may face, including:
- Mental health concerns (anxiety, stress, depression, etc)
- Isolation/loneliness
- Financial worries
- Legal worries
- Housing worries
- Circumstances of navigating rape, sexual assault, violence, etc
- Relationships
- Intercultural adjustments
How can learners access counselling?
Learners in Cork, Limerick and Dublin can access counselling either remotely or in person nationwide.
Residents in the Griffith Halls can access counselling either remotely, or in-person,
The counselling team can be reached at 087 436 0032 (by calling, by text or WhatsApp) or by emailing [email protected]. – there is NO change in the contact details from last year for Dublin residents and learners
The service offering is 100% confidential, with no details of learners / residents names given to anyone in Griffith College
When is the service available?
The service is available right now, with either remote or in-person appointments from 7 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday.
For weekend appointments, they are available Saturday 10 – 4 and on Sunday 11 – 4.
Outside those times, learners can text/call / leave a message and it will be picked up at 7 am the following morning, 7 days a week
Waiting Times:
Learners will not have to wait more than a couple of days for an appointment.
Emergencies will be given a consultation within 24 hours.
Emergencies:
If the counsellor deems it appropriate, they will refer on to the appropriate service, such as ambulance / next of kin, etc.
Staff are also free to use the number above to refer/contact the service for advice/support on behalf of a learner should they have any concerns.
