Griffith College’s basketball team have reached the semi-finals of the Irish Colleges Division 2 Basketball league. Tomorrow evening they play the semi-final game against Dublin Business School at Clogher Road Sports Centre. It’s the biggest game of the season to date. Should they win the final will be against Dundalk IT at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on Wednesday 11th March 2015.

Come along and support your team at tomorrow’s semi-final game. Meet at the SU building at 7.45pm to walk to the venue.

About the coach

The team’s coach, David Baker, has been with the college for 5 years and has coached in Irish Basketball for 19 years, whilst also coaching the Irish National team for over 10 years.  David is the only coach in Ireland to have a Euro League Qualification and has picked up 5 College Championships. He’s  hoping to make it a sixth this year!  David is also the Coach of Irish Premier League side Swords Thunder, who are in the top the division for the first time this year.
