Congratulations to the College’s Men’s Basketball Team who have qualified for the final of the 2nd division Irish Colleges League and still remain undefeated.
Students’ Union Sports and Societies Officer, Stephen Donnery gave his take on the semi-final game against Dublin Business School last Wednesday:
“The game was definitely the toughest one the basketball team have had to date. We were slow to start off in the first half, however we kicked on well in the third quarter.
Simple things that weren't going right in the first half clicked together well in the second. DBS were great in the first half and were fit to hit 90% of their 3 pointers which really punished our team.
The support we had on the night was also amazing, and I hope that they can all turn up again in numbers in Tallaght tomorrow and hopefully the lads can finish the job!
It's great to reach the final for the second year in a row. Last year we were beaten by 1 point so this Wednesday we hope we can go one step better. “

If Griffith win the league they will be promoted to division 1 next season.
Best of luck to the team!
