If you are interested in helping others, or wish to pursue further education in the Counselling & Psychotherapy sector or just want to learn a little more about these subjects then this induction day is ideal for you.

The Irish College of Humanities and Applied Sciences (ICHAS) are hosting a free counselling and psychotherapy seminar day on Saturday 9 August from 10.00 – 16.00.

Mr. John Hickey (MAPCP; MACI), senior lecturer with ICHAS, will introduce the group to some of the many interesting, diverse and challenging aspects of client presentations.


10.00am -10.30am: Welcome and Overview of ICHAS educational programmes

10.30am -11.00am: Introduction to the World of Counselling & Psychotherapy

11.00am-11.20am: Break

11.20am -12.20pm: Addictions: Understanding the Process of Addiction

12.20pm -13.20pm: Suicide: Prevention & Postvention Strategies

13.20pm -14.20pm: Lunch Break

14.20pm – 15.00pm: Family Systems Therapy

15.00pm - 15.40pm: Ethics in Professional Practice

15.40pm – 16.00pm: Feedback / Questions and Collection of Certificates of Attendance

ICHAS Qualifications Offered at Griffith College

The BA in Counselling Skills and Psychotherapy Studies is one of the leading academically based professional programmes for those wishing to pursue a career in counselling.
