"Anywhere But Here" celebrates the lost art of hitchhiking.

Griffith College is delighted to celebrate the broadcast of a new radio documentary feature, a collaboration between radio lecturer Francesca Lalor and former master's student Josh Crosbie.

Lalor, an award-winning producer as well as radio lecturer, said of the project: "I was very taken with Josh's ability when he was studying radio at Griffith College, and when the opportunity arose, was delighted to hire him as sound-recordist for my latest BAI-funded documentary feature. His professionalism and instinctual ability to get the best out of any interviewee proved invaluable in the production of this feature."

The premiere of Anywhere But Here broadcasts on Newstalk 106-108fm on Sunday 19th July at 7am, podcast goes live at 8am, with a repeat radio broadcast on the following Saturday 25th July at 9pm. The documentary was recorded before lockdown measures came into effect in Ireland, and mixed afterwards.

Says Newstalk, "In Anywhere But Here, we travel back in time to the golden hitchhiking days of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s, in an era when young people lined up on the roads outside of Dublin and London and all kinds of cities and towns to hitch a ride."
