Into Pieces is an A/W 26/27 capsule collection inspired by stained glass windows and religious architectural features, with a focus on St. Kevin’s Church in Portobello, one of Dublin`s finest Gothic Revival buildings. Having moved to Ireland from Ecuador to study fashion, the designer was struck by the unique design of many of the 19th Century churches. The concept challenges traditional religious conservatism by promoting freedom and female empowerment that is inspired by 1960s silhouettes and feminist movements, particularly the influence of mini skirt designer and liberator of women, Mary Quant. The colour palette is taken from stained glass in bold red and black to create visual impact and mixed with grey tones reflecting the stonework. Fabrics include cotton, corduroy, and canvas, chosen for their natural fibres. Sustainable elements are considered through mindful fabric use and designed with a petite customer in mind who wants to dress for fun and function.
