“DUALITY” is a S/S 27 womenswear collection looking at the contrast between the movement of our human bodies and that of advanced robotics and AI generated mechanics. The designer who was born in Lithuania has been a dancer all her life, trained in hip hop, ballet and heels dance styles from an early age. For inspiration she contrasts the coexistence of artificial and natural movement. Silhouette inspiration was researched by photographing the shapes the human body makes when in the throes of dance, studying people onsite in a dance studio and also photographing herself in action. Ballet influences are clearly visible in the fabrications of dramatic pink tulle, which contrasts with technical panelling shapes that hint at engineering details with metal trims and grey tones.
