Diana Maria Alexandr Oproiu

Hi, my name is Diana Oproiu. I am a writer and director drawn to bold, unsettling stories, the kind that sit with you and ask questions you can’t easily answer. I am particularly interested in female-centred narratives, aiming to explore the quieter, more complex corners of human behaviour through horror and dark drama. My work is very character-driven and defined by moody, tactile, and experimental visuals where beauty often coexists with unease. My final project exemplifies this approach, as I have written a compelling experimental horror film that explores themes of grief, abuse, victimhood, and absolution through the lens of three female characters that stumble onto the pumpkin-filled grounds of The Barrlry Farm. By combining disturbing visual compositions with an intentionally ambiguous narrative, I am inviting audiences to engage on a more instinctive, interpretive level.
