This project was a proposal for a collaborative office in an existing warehouse. My inspiration for the design was the old cement factory in Howth. The weathered scenery of this building, rusty steel, cracked concrete and weeds inspired me to create a contemporary office with industrial vibes. The proposed design was influenced by sustainable and biophilic design practices. I want people working in this office to be inspired by the rich history of Howth and Dublin. The usage of natural and raw materials, some of which are reclaimed, creates a space where functionalism and sustainability meet together. The office promotes collaborative work by influencing peoples’ paths and bringing them closer together, while still offering privacy and inclusivity.
