Interior Architecture and Design (Level 7)
Yukino Nakayama
This project explores the design of a collaborative office for a community of small, independent enterprises from diverse disciplines based in Howth. A strong historical and cultural connection to the sea inspires the concept. Through research on the sea, I have found an interesting wave phenomenon called the “Kármán vortex,” where the flow changes and begins to interact with other waves when a wave encounters an object. The idea translated into the proposed plan, which encourages the moment of interaction when all disciplines cross paths, exchange ideas, collaborate to generate a creative project, and focus on well-being. The design style is minimalist, with natural colours, to create a calm, universal environment that focuses on well-being.
