Interior Architecture and Design (Level 7)
Reyhan Ozbek
This project explores the adaptive reuse of an existing building in Howth, giving a warehouse new purpose and transforming it into an office space for creative professionals. The aim is to create a collaborative space for everyone to work in harmony together. The concept is ‘Mold’, mold begins as a microscopic spore floating in the air and it spreads out from its original origin point into different directions. I relay this to my special design by creating a central communal area that acts as an origin point/ collaborative point. The office design consists of a third space area, lounge, café, exhibition space, and workstations. In this area, designers can cross paths for a social aspect, exchange ideas, and get different peer opinions. This layout reflects the natural spreading pattern of mold relayed with a design perspective.
